Statistical releases relating to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which measures quarterly changes in the price of a 'basket' of goods and services which account for a high proportion of expenditure by the CPI population group (i.e. metropolitan households). As well as covering a wide range of goods and services the CPI measures price movements in each of the capital cities in Australia. The CPI provides the official measure of inflation in Australia.
