Queensland Government Statistician's Office (QGSO) provides statistical advice and information about Queensland’s Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
An Indigenous Statistics team was established within QGSO in 2008. We work in partnership with other Queensland Government agencies to improve statistics about the wellbeing of Queensland’s Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities including:
- collating and reporting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander statistics to provide an evidence base for decision making
- providing advice on statistical indicators and evaluation frameworks
- improving data quality and statistical methodologies in relation to data about Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
