Overseas migration, Queensland

The 2015–16 report draws on a range of statistics published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. It provides an overview of recent net overseas migration (NOM) in Queensland and permanent additions to Queensland’s resident population.

The report details 2015–16 NOM data including the contribution made by NOM to population change in Queensland, the composition of NOM in Queensland with respect to the age profile, and major grouping and visa type.

The report also details the composition of permanent additions to Queensland’s resident population by offshore and onshore components, migration stream and country of birth. Selected characteristics of persons granted business long stay (subclass 457) visas are also included in the report.
