This bulletin presents a comparison of the population characteristics of Queensland with other Australian states and territories, including change over time, using Census data from 2006 and 2011. Population size and growth are discussed in addition to age structure, cultural diversity and household composition. The distribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and characteristics of younger and older people are also presented.
