Consumer Price Index (report)
The CPI measures monthly changes in the price of a 'basket' of goods and services which account for a high proportion of expenditure by metropolitan households. This 'basket' covers a wide range of goods and services, grouped into eleven categories. The CPI tracks price movements across all Australian capital cities and serves as the official measure of inflation in Australia.
