Bowen Basin resource industry workforce (report)
This report provides information on workforce characteristics and place of residence of the Bowen Basin’s resource industry workforce. Data were derived from the Resource Employment Survey, conducted by Queensland Government Statistician’s Office, and other sources. The survey collected information from all resource industry companies with existing operations and projects under construction in the Bowen Basin region in June 2024.
Bowen Basin population report (report)
This annual report contains non–resident population and accommodation estimates for the Bowen Basin, which were derived from data collected by Queensland Government Statistician’s Office. The non‑resident population represents the number of FIFO/DIDO workers who are on‑shift in the region at a given point in time.
The report provides estimates of the number of non-resident workers on-shift in local government areas (LGAs) and selected localities in the Bowen Basin during the last week of June 2024. It also includes full–time equivalent (FTE) population estimates, which aggregate the resident and non-resident populations to provide a more complete indicator of demand for certain services. Information on the supply and take-up of commercial accommodation by non-resident workers is also provided in the report.
Please note: This report provides annual estimates of the resident and non-resident populations of the region that were current at the time of the survey. This information is subject to change and revision over time, and users are advised to refer to the current edition rather than past editions.
