People and communities Social isolation and loneliness
Statistical outputs presenting the social isolation and loneliness findings from the Queensland Social Survey (QSS) 2024. The objective of the QSS 2024 social isolation and loneliness questions was to capture information about loneliness, social groups and connections with neighbours, friends and family.
The social isolation questions were included in the QSS for the first time in 2021 and replaced the social cohesion questions from the 2017–2020 collections. In 2023 questions measuring loneliness were added to QSS.
