Economic activity State accounts
The State Accounts are produced annually by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and provide annual estimates of Queensland Gross State Product (GSP). They include breakdowns of Queensland GSP by industry division and expenditure components, both in current prices and chain volume measures.
Estimates of Gross Regional Product (GRP) are produced by Queensland Treasury. They are based on ABS State Accounts estimates of GSP and augmented by a range of ABS and non-ABS data sources to provide a measure of overall economic output for regions, by industry division.
Current Releases
Gross regional product estimates by industry and statistical area level 4 (SA4), Queensland, 2011–12 to 2022–23 (table)
Estimates of GRP examine growth in the components of the regional economies of Queensland. The comparison of these estimates across time shows structural change. The estimates are indicative of the relative contributions of regions to the state and the relative contributions of industries to each region’s economy. The main purpose of producing GRP estimates is to account for the diversity in the structure and performance across the regions of Queensland.
