Queensland Government Statistician's Office (QGSO) has extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining statistical collections on behalf of other government agencies. Participation by QGSO ensures that all data are handled confidentially, objectively and efficiently. Activities undertaken include data editing, coding, validation and reporting.
QGSO currently maintains the following ongoing collections:
- the Queensland Courts Database on behalf of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General
- the Queensland Employee Injury Database on behalf of the Office of Industrial Relations
- Australian Gambling Statistics, a national collection, on behalf of all states and territories.
Classifications and standards
Delivery of high quality statistics requires the use of agreed statistical standards. QGSO has worked with Queensland Government agencies to develop standards, including classifications and counting rules. We also provide guidance and assistance on the use of national and international statistical standards, which includes developing mappings to standard classifications from existing operational classifications.
